Oy! So it always seems like I am catching up on my blogging but this time I actually have something to talk about instead of just what I (and my cat) have been up to.

Most of you know that I've been dating my boo for almost 2.5 years but you might not know that I was getting ready to move in with him (2 weeks ago was the date, actually). I was kind of annoyed with him because he wasn't working very hard to clean out the closet that I was going to have to use or get ready for the big move. Well, I found out why on July 21.

We had a pretty busy weekend planned (a nice little Saturday...) with his godson's 3rd birthday and an anniversary party for his brother and sister-in-law. He asked me to come over on Saturday by 11 so we could run a bunch of errands and get supplies for the parties--no biggie, we always run errands on the weekends. I was excited because we were going to Sam's, which is always fun becasue the people watching is just FANTASTIC! And we'd get icee's.

Kev also mentioned that we had to drop off some papers at a client's house, which also didnt surprise me because this particular client had actually given him keys to his house so he could be there for the house inspection because the client couldnt be there. I'm used to his clients being demanding so it really wasn't out of the ordinary. So he thought we should pick up some flowers to leave at the client's house because they just bought it. Sure, no problem.

After we finished up at Sam's we headed to the client's house. We walked in and I headed to the kitchen to start arranging the flowers. I wanted them to be perfect because they were for a VIP client so I kept fiddling with them. I asked Kevin if they looked ok and he said yes but told me to come look at them from his angle to see if there were any empty spots.

So I went over to investigate and had a bag of trash and a pair of scissors in my hands while I was looking and messing with the flowers. Kevin was telling me they looked great and that he loved me all that jazz and literally the next thing I knew he was down on one knee holding out a ring and asking me to marry him!

I immediately started crying and really couldnt believe what was happening. Of course I said yes and gave him a big hug. Then, in my state of shock and emotion I said "Why are we in your client's kitchen?!" (it's a logical inquiry, right?)

Kevin's replied with, "Because it's not his kitchen. It's ours. This is our house!"

Um... I'm not even kidding you...I couldn't make this up. Pretty sure I started hyperventilating and crying even more. I was in shock.

Basically, Kevin acknowledged that the house he currently lives in is his house and that, even though he loves it and has put a lot of work into it, that the new house was OURS and was for OUR future. A-Maz-Ing! Who does that? My boo, that's who!

After I calmed down a little bit and we started walking around OUR house he said he had another suprise for me in the basement. I don't know if I could handle anything else but I followed him downstairs. What he showed me next was pretty fantastic.... the house was built with...wait for it.... A CAT DOOR! No shit! This house was meant to be ours. The door goes from the finished side of the basement to an unfinished area where my cat's litter box will go.

What makes this little story even better is the fact that he's had the ring and house since MAY! And his house has been on the market since MAY. If I was heading over to his house, he would take the sign out of his yard and hide it. Sneaky! And a great secret keeper!!

So.... that was my July....how was yours?

Here is the ring! It's gorgeous---but this picture doesnt do it justice at all! He did a great job picking it out--not that I had any doubts about his jewelry-picking abilities!

This one is a little better :) It's very sparkly!

This is OUR house... it's amazing!

And this is the cat door :)
