Ohh the joys of Facebook! I guess I have always wanted to change my "relationship status" on Facebook but, because I've been single for the last oh....29 years (not to mention Facebook hasnt been around that long), I havent been able to.

Until this week. Yes folks, the perpetually single friend is not so single anymore! Yep, I'm doing a little happy dance on my couch...as well as I can dance sitting down with a laptop on my lap. Now that I have changed the ole status, everyone is asking, which I knew they would--isnt that the point of changing it?

In what started as my last attempt at online dating, I joined e-Harmony and actually paid for it. (eek) A few weeks went by and I was matched with Kevin, a guy who has an affinity for volunteerism, sarcasm, and unfortunately, Mizzou. For those of you not familiar with e-Harmony procedures, you have two options--you can go through the "guided commnication," which is like a question and answer type of thing. You cant send an e-mail until like, step 4 or something...its interesting. Or, you can skip all that crap and send someone an email right away.

Until I read Kevin's profile I had never really considered sending an e-mail right off the bat, but something about what I read made me want to learn more...soon. So I sent it and waited...and waited...and WAITED. Are you kidding me? What the hell is wrong with him? Why wouldnt he want to respond to me (yeah, I was feeling extremely confident about myself at that time)?!

I'm pretty sure a couple of weeks went by until he FINALLY responded. Let the e-mailing commence! So...long story short, we had an amazing first date and everything has been going so well that we made it "facebook official" this week. : )

I think I can safely say that he is a great match. So kudos to you, e-Harmony! He is the first guy in a long time that I feel like I can be 100% myself around...even when I'm being ridiculous or inappropriate, which you should all know is often. I'm pretty sure I havent laughed as hard or as much as I have in the past 5 weeks.  Did we make it official too soon? Is it moving too fast? I can honestly say that I am scared sometimes, but I'm also excited and that is a good thing--I think I deserve it. So Kevin, if you are reading this, which I know you are. Thank you for the best 5 weeks I've had in a long, long time. I look forward to many, many, more! Oh, and good luck finding the peep this time!!
